Bumgarner is awesomely filthy and his ugly beard makes him look even more awesomely filthy.
I'm happy to have KC representing the AL. I'm so tired of NY/BOS/LA/DET. I also love it when two wild card teams make it. It's an underdog thing I guess. It might be the one and only thing I applaud Bud Selig for.

So the wife and I are driving thru San Rafael (Marin Co.) an hour ago and we pass this bar with a sandwich board out front that says "How are you feeling now LAD fans" what the fuck is that - typical sf fan- root for your team or against kc - why the hell worry about the LAD's - its like the 2012 series when the sf fans in sf were chanting 'LAD sucks " every game - do you have an inferiority complex or what /

That's dumb 7-2 down facing the Royals bullpen? This is over

Come on Royals! I love how some "journalists" are writing how a Dayton Moore GMed side could usher in a swing back to "old fashioned" team building lol Meanwhile, in LA............... I guess it it depends on what the term "old fashioned" represents. It just cracks me up when people talk about how this team was built to be a small-ball, steal bases, bunt runners over, manufacture runs type of team that wins with pitching and defense. Sure they are extremely athletic across the lineup but this team morphed into a bunch of slap hitting base stealers when their elite young hitting prospects don't exactly pan out. For years the idea of having Gordon, Butler, Hosmer, Moose anchor the heart the lineup meant multiple playoff runs waiting to happen. A couple years ago if someone had said that any of the four had put up a batting line of .266/.351/.452 with 19 HR and 79 RBI people would have guessed they had a mediocre season. And that ended up being far and away the best season among the four. This isn't an overachieving team that is getting some luck, its an underachieving team that is getting some luck. Moore had to realize at some point last season that this is what this team is going to be in some form. His only real strength has been the ability to build a bullpen and this year they have finally been able to take advantage of that. Yost can be a moron but he has a very specific goal of do whatever you have to do to get a one run lead by the seventh inning then you win. That strategy in the playoffs can be deadly when it turns into just be tied in the 6th then you win. And even in that respect the Royals are not as good this year as they could be. Hochevar was as good or better last year than Herrera, Davis, and Holland have been this season. If he was healthy it very well might have been Yost managing for a 4 inning game in the postseason. Anywho, back to the normal "my team isn't there so this is the worst World Series ever" cries from whiny LA and NY fans.

John Sickels went through the KC roster the other day, and you could argue Moore has created "chemistry" by having 3 Venezuelans amongst his 9 starting hitters. I know we as stat guys are supposed to poop on this, but I think the level of comfort for those three guys having each other would be worth a (crucial in a contending year) win or two.

No idea about the nationality chemistry, but for the longest time Moore talked about bringing the entire group of young players up together through the minors. They made the appearance of trying really hard to promote them through the minors together and the core groups constantly won at whatever level they were at. Dyson, Hosmer, Duffy, Holland, Herrera and Moose basically grew up together in the organization from the time they were drafted until now.
No idea how much that actually plays into what is happening now, but you can definitely tell that the team is very comfortable with each other.

Man I love Hunter Pence. I feel sorry for those of you who will never get to experience having him on your team.
Also, is there a douchier looking douche out there than Eric Hosmer? I cannot stand that guy.
