Kemp, Myers, and now Upton. Padres are seriously going for it.

If that is the OF I'm curious who plays CF.

Maybe they dress Venable up in a Kemp uniform and have him run out there?

The cruel joke is that the Padres have 25M in OF'ers on the bench now (maybin, Quentin, Smith and Venable). Overall I like the moves though.
Kemp - a risk but the risk is mostly just money. Myers - LOVE this trade Upton - a bit puzzling although the cost was a TJ prospect and prospect depth (utility player types) Norris - Beane might look like a genius here. I like Hahn but Norris has 4 yrs of control and they traded all of their other catchers away.
The remaining problem is that the rest of the offense aren't MLB starters unless they have more moves up their sleeves.
The other issue is that they seem to be fighting their ballpark by having a substandard (terrible?) OF defense. And they traded away a highly thought of defensive catching duo for one that is questionable.
But it's better than sitting around with a 70-80 win team waiting for a group of prospects to break through.

This is amazing, go Padres!
The Norris deal was a fail for them though, Norris only bashes LHP and can't throw out a runner to save his life. Hahn could be a usable SP right away, he has two of the three skills already (K/9 and GB%)...with potential for more. Alvarez, a reliever with a career 13 K/9? YES
A couple of reporters via twitter think the A's are stockpiling pitching to go after Tulo. I doubt this.

Does this help or hurt Upton for fantasy? Park is worse, but I'm guessing hitting around Kemp/Myers/Norris should help.

Love it. Wish I could see the Mets at least taking chances like this. As a Padres fan, you've got to at least be encouraged. They're trying. Got 3 new OF without trading a single one of the 3 OF they already had. Got brand new 2 through 7 hitters without giving up a single major league arm. Nothing to lose. Go for it.
