A farm player can be demoted to an owner's farm by simply dropping him via Yahoo add/drop -- no announcement is necessary.
A farm player may be promoted and demoted for the entire season if he was on a farm roster to begin the season, or was acquired via an in-season farm pick.
1. Players eligible for the MLB portion of the draft are those players listed on the 40 man roster as of Dec. 27, 2013. mlb.com will be the site used as reference.
2. If a player is on the 40 man roster as of Dec 27, 2013 but is not taken during the MLB draft and they are below 150 ABs or 50 IP, they will still qualify for the MiLB draft.
3. If a player has surpassed either 150 ABs or 50 IPs before the season begins, he is no longer eligible for the MiLB draft.
Cuban/Japanese signees follow the same rules: If they are on the 40 man roster, they qualify for the MLB draft. If they are below 150 ABs or 50 IPs, they also qualify for the MiLB draft.
4. Free agents or unsigned players not currently on the 40 man roster by Dec 27, 2013 can still be drafted in the MLB draft provided it is well known that he is not a prospect (for example: Nelson Cruz, Masahiro Tanaka). This will be at the discretion of the Commissioner.
5. Prospects (below 150 ABs or 50 IP) drafted in the MLB draft i.e. those who are on the 40 man roster as of Dec 27, 2013, are no longer eligible to be sent down to the managers farm team.
