7 years, $180 million. Can't say I saw that coming. I assume that means one of Zimmermann or fister is getting traded. Someone also said that Strasburg could possibly be traded, but that seems unlikely. That package would have to be huge.

The Bucs would be an ultimate dark horse for Zim. I see them playing it conservative with sending prospects for a 1 yr rental.
At this point I just expect it to be the Padres making the trade. It's too much money for the A's otherwise I would say them.

Red Sox - they still need a #1 and have the young parts to deal.

Seeing more talk about Strasburg and with 2 seasons until FA teams might be willing to give the prospects and/or players needed to acquire him.

Looks like it's actually $210 million with half deferred. That's $15 million a year for the next 14 years.

C'moooooon Sox! I hope they are thinking about Zimm... I could see the Nats playing the hand they have so it will have to be a very steep price, the Nats owner is 89 yrs old and wants to win before he kicks it.

I think the Nats head into the season with the 5 they have: Scherzer, Strasburg, Zimmermann, Fister, Gonzalez. Yikes.

When those other 5 are options, I would think so. Roark will provide stability in the pen and give good innings. The pen lost Clippard, and not that Roark would fill that role, it certainly helps bolster the pen in general as the other guys slide up a role, so to speak.
