Personally I'm choosing between these guys in an auction league and they are the same $$.
Almost every early rankings I've seen thus far have them ranked Calhoun ahead of JD but always within 4 spots of each other.
What makes Calhoun slightly better? I think JD has more power. They both will hit.270-.280. Both in a good lineup. Can any of you share your view of either of them & who you think is better? They are almost a wash in my mind.

I think Calhoun has more job security and as long as he's leading off for the Angels he's gonna score a ton of runs. I think Martinez is less likely to keep a job as an everyday guy. He doesn't have the history to make me think he'll maintain either the power production or a reasonable batting average.

Agreed pick the guy with the best job security - in this case Calhoun.

I don't have a ton of confidence in JD either. Calhoun was a sleeper of mine last season & didn't disappoint. I could easily see him on a lot of my teams again this year as he seems to get overlooked a lot.

I think JD has decent enough job security if he hits some. I think the power is real but I'm not convinced that he will hit .250 though.
I sold him for Manaea to take care of a logjam of OF'ers.
