Still missing Redhopeful, twistehdude, ironman Thracken and Lane. If anyone knows how to contact any of those guys, please do. Otherwise, I'll start inviting a few more guys from Pond Scum.

I was never once in a position to be promoted until the final day the season, and now Masters? Lets keep that train rolling versus the best.

I was hoping to do that, Dodger, but Yahoo won't allow me to access the League page from last year. Will you take a look and make sure that it's not just me?

Gotcha, ironman. If I don't find the others within a day or two more, we'll look for some replacements.

Would we just ask for relegated managers to come back?

You are correct, sir. I was still logged in under the joint account I share with my wife.
I'll email the missing guys. I think that brining back relegated guys to fill the empty slots is a good idea, if needed.

I'm just laughing at the avatars. I like Al Pacino juxtaposed with Brett Lawrie playing Edward 40 Hands.

No sign of RedHopeful or Lane Anasazi, so I've invited Chris8 and RJforLife, who were the #11 and #12 finishers in Masters' last season to join. Chris has already responded back with a yes.

Alright. Chris8 is in, but there has been no word from RJ after several attempts. I going to make the call and say that, barring any further developments, we will move forward with the fourteen teams listed as "IN" above for the Masters' League this year. If RJ shows up before we start, we'll let him in.
I think it might be a good idea to hold the draft on Couch Managers, since everyone is still getting used to this new board and how it works. I'm still open to suggestions, though. Does anyone have any reason why we shouldn't do that?
Also, we will use the same format as in past years, 5X5 roto, snake draft. No bench. One change: we will only use one catcher, instead of two. League will be run through Yahoo. Any player listed in the Couchmanagers draft pool will be eligible for drafting. If they are not in the pool, they cannot be drafted. Once the season starts, we will use an FAB system to bid on free agents.
Last year's draft started on February 12 and finished on March 15, just over a month later. I propose we utilize roughly the same schedule this year. We'll start the draft on Monday, February 9. I will send all the Counchmanagers info to you all when I get things set up.
Let me know what I am missing. Also, if there are any questions or suggestions regarding rules, put them out there now, so that we can get them resolved before we start the draft.
PLEASE SEND ME THE EMAIL ADDRESS THAT YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO USE FOR THE LINK TO THE DRAFT.

Couch Managers is the way to go, IMO.
I'd give RJ a few more days since we don't get started until after the following weekend.
On a side note, it seems like league sign-ups for Pond Scum (and n00bs if we still have interest) have to get going.

Yeah, I'm just the messenger, so don't shoot me, but don't count on many from the noobs league coming back. The overall consensus was that the league format was boring with no bench and weekly moves. It does not setup well for trades or much activity. No interaction. These were just some of the comments from our message board. Most stated that they would not be happy to come back. I won the league, and it was the least fun of the 4 leagues I was in last year.

To a certain extent, I'll agree with those comments, but on the whole, I like the format. It's nice playing in a league in which I don't have to micromanage or be too active on a daily basis.

Yeah, I've gone back and forth on that, too. I didn't like the "no bench" format, but when it was brought up for discussion of a possible change last year, most wanted to keep it that way. I also find these leagues to be the least involved of the thhree I play in, mainly because the other two are daily lineup leagues. But for the sake of consistency, I did't change anything (except remove the second catcher requirement.)
Like Dodger said, there is something to be said for a "set it and forget it" kind of set up, too.
